II Corinthians 1:3-5
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.  For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.”

Psalm 37:4-11
“Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret, it leads only to evil.  For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.  A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.  But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace.”

Favorite Scripture: James 1:1-18
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord, he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.  The brother in humble circumstances out to take pride in his high position. But the one who is rich should take pride in his low position, because he will pass away like a wild flower.  For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business. Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.  When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.  The, after desire has conceived it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers.  Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.  He chose to give us birth through the Word of Truth that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all He created.”
Most Inspiring Person: My Dad-He was the strongest influence in my life. He lived the Word daily. Another inspiration at a time when I needed it most, God sent a lady to where I worked. She trusted God for everything!  She was bold in her testimony. Witnessing her life helped bring me back into a right relationship with God.
Favorite Memory at the Shelter: It is always a joy to see the open response to the invitation to receive Jesus. Although it breaks my heart to hear all of the concerns, it brings thanksgiving to know that all can lay problems at Jesus’ feet.  No one is too sinful or too lost. Repent today and ask for Jesus’ forgiveness!

Favorite memory: Our favorite memory would have to be the very first night we went to the shelter. We were full off excitment and expectation of what God might do. We were unsure about how it would all unfold, but we had a vision and a heart to serve. Mike, Janelle and our family set up the sound equipment in the chapel. Then went through out the shelter inviting all to come to the service. When no one accepted the invitation, we quickly realized that we would be more effective if we went where the ladies were verses expecting them to come to us. So we went to the outside steps of the shelter and rode on the wings of the Holy Spirit. We had a sweet time in God singing with just Mike's Guitar. Ladies walking by would join in or just listen. My daughter was passionately handing out tracks. When someone refused she would groan and clinch her fist with such disappointmet. She was in such shock that someone wouldn't want Jesus as much as she did. Many did want Jesus that night whether they knew it or not. We all know Who drew them in to listen. Some stayed until the end giving us the opportunity to talk and pray with them! So what may have looked like an unorganized evening ended up exactly the opposite. It was the first evening of many that would be carefully and strategically organized by the One and only Master planner, Jesus Christ! This desire to do it God's way and not man's way, plays a huge part in the effectiveness of Rivers of New Hope.
Most inspiring client:  (Leigh) My favorite client isn't a specific individual. But it is a characteristic that I adimire and have seen displayed in many ladies through the years. That characteristic is one who has owned up and faced the truth. And who has allowed the Truth to Teach and humble them. And ultimately setting them free.
Favorite Scripture:
Ecc 7:18
The man who fears God will avoid all extremes.

Also if you ever feel distant from God remember his Promise. He has promised that He would never leave you or forsake you. So if you are feeling distant, you know who moved.
